Forklift Attachments Hamilton - The city of Hamilton (population 62,447) is the county seat of Butler County, within southwestern state of Ohio, United States. The city of Hamilton forms part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The Hamilton City School District is believed to be the best urban school district in Ohio State. The district superintendent, Janet Baker, has been named the state's superintendent of the year.

The city was originally an industrial township and now has a lot of high-tech manufacturing facilities. Hamilton has recently been revitalized through the support from the arts. It has been declared the 'City of Sculpture,' because of the various sculptures within the downtown area and within Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park.

In the year 1794, the region presently referred to as Hamilton was known as Fairfield. An army post, Fort Hamilton, was built there. The settlement was incorporated as Hamilton during 1810, but lost its status five years afterward as it failed to hold elections. In the year 1827 the community was reincorporated and during 1857 it became a city. Immigrants from Germany were attracted to the city and influenced its culture, specially its food and architecture. Paper production and iron works were two primary industries which boomed in the city of Hamilton from the early to mid-20th century.

During the year 1913, much of Hamilton was damaged in the Great Dayton Flood. The township later became known as "Little Chicago" since numerous Chicago gangsters bought homes in the city. In World War II, Hamilton factories manufactured supplies for the war. Then again, military workers were forbidden to enter the city of Hamilton on account of the many gambling establishments and prostitution which had taken root there.

The city currently features numerous gorgeous parks where the visitors and residents can enjoy outdoor activities. The most popular parks consist of: Joyce Park, Miami Woods, Crawford Woods, Sanders Park and Milkin Woods. Individuals can usually be seen bicycling and strolling on the picturesque paved paths along the Great Miami River banks. There are many great golf courses within the region. The local ice rink is busy during wintertime with hockey and skating.

Residents normally go to nearby Cincinnati for cultural activities and professional sports events. Also accessible for Hamilton families is the Beach Waterpark and the Kings Island amusement and recreational center. There is also a forest park located in Campbell Gard on the Great Miami River.
