Forklift Attachments Pueblo - Pueblo, Colorado is a Home Rule Municipality and is the county seat of Pueblo County. The city is located at the convergence of the Arkansas River and Fountain Creek. Pueblo is the primary city of the Pueblo Metropolitan Statistical Area and a significant part of the Front Range Urban Corridor. The city of Denver lies 166 km towards the north of Pueblo.

Pueblo is situated in the semi-arid desert region known as the "banana belt". Annual precipitation within the region averages only 305 mm. Pueblo experiences less snow compared to any other major cities in the state.

Due to the city's significant steel-producing sector, Pueblo has been named the "Steel City". The steel sector in the city is the largest in the country.

During the middle part of the 19th century, the name of the town was "Fort Pueblo." The Colorado Gold Rush during 1859, led to the settlement of four towns, which ultimately merged to become Pueblo. Pueblo was the site of one of the most disastrous floods in the history of the country. The Great Flood of the year 1912 is amongst the state's most well known natural disasters. Thousands of people died and Pueblo sustained millions of dollars in damage. The Historic Arkansas River Project (or also known as HARP) features displays and information regarding the Pueblo Flood.

The 20th century ushered in the era of steel, and Pueblo's economy relied heavily on production of steel. More recently, Pueblo has created an industrial park and a revitalized downtown in an effort to diversify. Many aviation and electronics businesses are currently located here. The main employment sectors within the city of Pueblo are education, government, healthcare, construction and the hospitality and leisure. Service jobs provide more than 80% of employment. Many inhabitants are still employed in steel fabrication. Newer sources of employment include manufacturing, telemarketing call centers, electronics and aviation businesses. Lots of Pueblo people commute to the Colorado Springs area to work.

St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center, Parkview Medical Center, and the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo are the largest healthcare employers in the city of Pueblo. Other significant employers consist of the County of Pueblo, the school system of Pueblo, Trane, Convergys Corporation, Rocky Mountain Steel Mills and Walmart.
