Forklift Attachments South Carolina

Forklift Attachments South Carolina - South Carolina is a state in the Deep South of the United States that borders Georgia to the south, North Carolina to the north, and the Atlantic Ocean towards the east. First part a of the Province of Carolina, the Province of South Carolina was among the thirteen colonies which declared independence from the British Crown in the American Revolution. The colony was originally named by King Charles II of England to honor his father Charles I, as Carolus is Latin which means Charles. South Carolina was the first state to vote to secede from the Union and was the founding state of the Confederate States of America. According to the 2010 United States Census, the state of South Carolina is ranked 24th among the U.S. states by population, at approximately 4,625,300 people. South Carolina contains forty six counties and Columbia is its capital.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, the gross state product of South Carolina in current dollars was $97 billion in the year 1997, and $153 billion in the year 2007. Its per-capita real gross domestic product or GDP in 2000, was $26,772 during the year 1997, and $28,894 in the year 2007; that represents 85% of the $31,619 per-capita real GDP for the United States on the whole in the year 1997, and 76% of the $38,020 for the United States in 2007.

Key agricultural outputs of the state are: tobacco, poultry, cattle, dairy products, rice, hogs and soybeans. Industrial outputs include: textile goods, chemical products, machinery, paper products, tourism and automobiles and automotive parts.

South Carolina shares its border with the state of North Carolina in the north, the state of Georgia towards the west across the Savannah River, and on the east by the Atlantic Ocean.

The state of South Carolina is composed of four geographic areas, or physiographic provinces, whose boundaries approximately parallel the Atlantic shoreline. In the southeast region of South Carolina is the Coastal Plain, that can be divided into the Outer and Inner Coastal Plains. Beginning from north to south the coastline is divided into three separate areas, the Grand Strand, the Santee River Delta, and the Sea Islands. Further inland are the Sandhills, ancient dunes from what was before South Carolina's coastline millions of years ago. The Fall Line, which marks the limit of navigable rivers, runs along the boundary of the Sandhills and the Piedmont, which has clay soils and rolling hills. Within the northwest corner of the state are the Blue Ridge Mountains, the smallest geographical part in South Carolina.

There are lots of salt marshes and estuaries along South Carolina's shore, in addition to the natural ports at Charleston and Georgetown. The coastal plain has a large number of Carolina bays, that is an unusual feature, with their exact origins being uncertain. One prominent, but incorrect theory says that they were created by a meteor shower. The bays tend to be oval, lining up in a northwest to southeast direction. The terrain is flat and the soil is composed completely of recent sediments like clay, sand and silt. Parts with better drainage make great farmland, although some land is swampy.
