 Forklift Attachments Federal Way - Federal Way (population around 89,000) is a city within the state of Washington. On the city's west border is the Puget Sound, while the city of Tacoma is south, Des Moines town in the north, and Milton, Kent and unincorporated King County in the east. The city of Federal Way is around 37 km south of Seattle.
Federal Way was incorporated as a city in the year 1990. The region was initially a logging community. It was known as "Federal Way" after Federal Highway U.S. 99, that was constructed through the region to connect the cities of Everett and Seattle along with the city of Tacoma. The city's Chamber of Commerce assumed the name during the early 1950s.
Situated within the city of Federal Way, is the largest softwood timber company within the world, Weyerhaeuser. The corporation has allowed a lot of its land to be used for public use. Some of the land is currently botanical gardens: the Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection and the Rhododendron Species Foundation and Botanical Garden. The United States headquarters of World Vision are located within Federal Way.
The city of Federal Way boasts various parks and playgrounds, whilst among the most essential recreational landmarks is the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. It played host to the 1990 Goodwill Games. Celebration Park is one more essential recreation facility, featuring trails and sports fields.
The city of Federal Way is the home of Wild Waves Theme Park, the largest amusement park in the region. The theme park is on the south side of the city and consists of an Enchanted Village. The park was obtained in the year 2007 by Parc Management LLC of Jacksonville, Florida, for over 30 million dollars.
Federal Way has a lot of semi-urban development features, landscaped off-street multi-structure apartment complexes and shopping centers. Federal Way has just one indoor shopping center, Commons at Federal Way, situated on S 320th St. and Pacific Hwy South near Interstate 5, the main exit of the city. A recent multi-use development is United Properties' "Symphony" project. This major downtown redevelopment project has four 15-22 story towers including 900 housing units, 5,600 m2 of retail and office space, and a huge park. The development is constructed on the previous AMC Theatres cinema property and is convenient to the city's transit center.
