Forklift Attachments Paradise

Forklift Attachments Paradise - Paradise (population 223,167) is an unincorporated town within the Las Vegas metropolitan area in the state of Nevada. The city of Paradise is governed by the Clark County Commission together with the Paradise Town Advisory Board.

The many tourists who come to the region may not be aware that they are really in Paradise and not within the city of Las Vegas itself. Nearly all of the Las Vegas Strip is situated in Paradise, including several of the popular hotels like for example the Palms and Ceasars palace. The city of Paradise is also where University of Nevada, the MGM Grand and McCarran International Airport are situated. Paradise remains relatively unknown because the Postal Service of the US has assigned "Las Vegas, NV" as the place name used for ZIP codes in Paradise. "Paradise, NV" never appears in postal addresses. If Paradise were a city that was incorporated, it will be one of the largest within the state of Nevada.

In the year 1950, the unincorporated township of Paradise was voted in by the Clark County commission. Ernie Cragin, the mayor of Las Vegas at that time had tried unsuccessfully to expand the tax base of the city by trying to push for the annexation of the Las Vegas Strip. Ernie Cragin required capital in order to pay down the rising debt of Paradise and fund a development proposal. A group of Strip casino executives successfully lobbied the county for township status to be able to prevent the city of Las Vegas from annexing the land. Ever since then the county commission has continued to preserve its authority by limiting the expansion of Las Vegas.

About three quarters of the population of Nevada State reside in Clark County. The county supports nearly 2 million residents. The Nevada Legislature formed the county in 1909. The Las Vegas Valley, a one thousand square kilometer basin, consists of the unincorporated community of Paradise and the city of Las Vegas. Before Nevada became a state, a lot of the region was part of Pah-Ute County, Arizona Territory. Clark County was named for U.S. Senator William Andrews Clark, who was mainly responsible for routing the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad through the region. The railroad significantly boosted development in the region.
