Forklift Attachments Palmdale - The city of Palmdale is situated in the north-central part of Los Angeles County. The city was established in the year 1962 and ever since then now hosts a population of 152,622. Voters decided to make the city into a Charter City in November of the year 2009. The Gabriel Mountain Range separates Los Angeles from Palmdale.

Palmdale has been ranked amongst the top 25 fastest growing cities within California and is currently the sixth biggest city in Los Angeles County. With its city limits stretching to 104.57 square miles, Palmdale is considered to be the biggest "Desert City" as well as one of the Top 100 largest cities within the US. It is amongst the really few larger cities which are not served by a an interstate freeway or a highway.

Palmdale has for a long time considered itself the "Aerospace Capital of the United States." It is by far the most prosperous industry in the area, although manufacturing plants are starting to develop because of special tax breaks provided by the government and the close proximity to the Palmdale Airport.

The USAF Plant 42 is the main location for the Aerospace business in the city, where all the development, final assembly, research, servicing/modifications and test flights occur. The F-35 Lighting, B-2 Spirit, Lockheed 1011 Tristar, F-117 Nighthawk, the X-15, Space Shuttle and the SR-71 Blackbird are just some of the planes that were developed at the centre. The completed products and research produced here are used by airlines and air forces globally as well as NASA.

Located in the city are major operations for Northrop Grumman, Boeing and Lockheed martin (Skunk Works). The USAF Plant 42, a former Boeing hanger is one of the biggest buildings in the globe. It is owned by the Los Angeles World Airport.
