There are 17 headquarters of Fortune 1000 company located within the state of Colorado. Sixteen of these company head offices are found within the Denver-Aurora metropolitan region. Qwest Communications is the largest corporation who has their corporate headquarters in the Denver area. The Sports Authority and Molson Coors Brewing are two of the most well-known companies which have their headquarters situated here.
There is an extremely well educated labor force in the city of Denver, as a matter of fact, the city of Denver ranks amongst the top 20 cities within America based on the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey. Central Connecticut State University ranked the city of Denver 6th amongst the most literate cities within the USA during 2005.
